Who We Are

We are a network of wedding, event, and hospitality professionals with a deep commitment to our community.

In our industry, we often have large amounts of fresh floral arrangements left behind at the venues after weddings and events. We wanted to find a way to reduce the amount of waste and share the beauty and joy of flowers with others in our community.

We decided to start volunteer-based, vendor-led program to provide nonprofit organizations with fresh floral arrangements at no charge. Our hope is that these floral arrangements will contribute to a comforting, homey atmosphere for people who have experienced trauma or may be going through a difficult life transition. Our current focus is on Milwaukee-area nonprofits that have a residential component. We have partnered with Sojourner Family Peace Center, Ronald McDonald House, and Meta House, among others.

Founder

Amanda Press has been a photographer in the wedding and events industry for over 16 years, and served for 3 years as the Director of Community Service for the Southern Wisconsin Chapter of the National Association of Catering and Events. Throughout the years she has developed relationships with many Milwaukee area nonprofit organizations and has participated in various types of service projects.

Amanda is a long-time flower lover, avid thrift shopper, repurposing crafter, and eco-friendly garden and compost enthusiast. It always broke her heart to see the amount of waste after large events, and to see the beautiful artistry that the florists create go into the trash when they had so much life left in them.

Sharing the comfort and joy of flowers with our community partners seemed like the perfect combination of craft, conservation, and service. That is why she ultimately decided to launch Hope Blooms Anew, with the support of her employer, Front Room Studios.
